Chatswood comes alive at the Annual Spring Festival - Michelle Farrar-Eagles

A little late and a little cheeky sneaking this blog in among my new schedule – but sometimes rules are there to be broken and when something as fabulous as Chatswood’s Spring Festival occurs, it definitely needs to be shared. For those that don’t know where Chatswood is, it is on Sydney’s North Shore. One of my favourite destinations – there is something for everyone – Stripe Shopping through Archer/Victoria St up to the Station – Chatswood Chase – The Concourse (where X factor boot camp was filmed), The Mandarin Centre , Lemon Grove – and of course Westfield.

But Chatswood came alive on Saturday to celebrate the multicultural society it is with over 120,000 people celebrating the annual street fair on Saturday 15th September!

The Concourse was turned into a kids zone with circus acts galore, there was live street dancing, a really buzz in the air.

The pictures speak for themselves in what was truly a fabulous day for the local Willoughby community and those visiting the area.

Anderson Street South was even turned into Sustainability Street, where you could find advice on everything from solar power and energy and water efficiency, to local bushwalks, planting natives and growing food. The idea being that when we are more educated we make better decisions, so why not give the community an opportunity to become educated!

Truly a fabulous day, a great Council initiative and one to mark in the diaries for next Sept!
