The prestigious Chatswood Year of the Horse Festival is an annual festival celebrating Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year or Spring Festival. This is celebrated in many Asian countries including China, Vietnam, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. The festival usually falls between late January and mid-February, depending on the lunar calendar.
The 2026 festival will be held from 12 to 28 February 2026, celebrating the Year of the Horse. The festival features a wide range of multicultural events including the Lunar New Year Celebration Weekend with a twilight lantern parade on the Saturday. There are also film screenings, workshops, night markets and even a drone show in 2026.
