If you are looking for a modern, eclectic and cosy bar restaurant, Sunday Seoul is the place to be. With a mature atmosphere of Tiffany green-blue furnish, sombre lighting, and an old-school bar, it’s the perfect spot for those intimate gatherings.

Sunday Seoul offers a wide range of Korean alcoholic beverages and a ‘newtro’ (new and retro) style of Korean food which combines traditional flavours with modern tastes. Start your meal with a Minari pancake with dried shrimp that is crispy and full of nutritious watercress. Don’t miss out on their delicious boneless Korean fried chicken that comes with original, sweet and spicy, soy and garlic or jalapeno flavours. Rose Tteokbokki is one of Sunday Seoul’s specialities that comes with divine rice cakes (which are cooked to the perfect texture), delectable fish cakes, bacon and sausage all immersed in a luscious tomato cheese sauce. For something with a dynamite spicy kick, try the spicy tomato mussel stew for an authentic Korean lip-burning experience.

2. Hanasuki Chatswood
Shop 1, 18-26 Anderson St, Chatswood (Mon-Fri 5pm-10pm | Sat-Sun 12pm-10pm)

Hanasuki

Hanasuki Chatswood is a new Japanese restaurant in Chatswood that specializes in Shabu Shabu, the Japanese-style hot pot. The restaurant has only been open for two months and offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with spacious seating areas and booths for larger groups.

Hanasuki Chatswood offers a great choice of different set menus: Kurobuta pork belly, a variety of seafood, Wagyu Rib Eye and the top-level A5 Wagyu which are all sent in directly from Japan. The farm-to-table fresh vegetables are locally grown in the Peats Ridge area which adds the depth of the broth of hot pot. The meal offers six types of condiments including freshly grated wasabi, radish, ponzu yuzu soy and rich sesame sauce for diners to experience different unique seasonings. Towards the end of the meal, friendly staff would test the remaining broth for salt level and add rice and eggs to make it into a flavourful congee as the final dish.

Chef Takashi Yamamoto prides his work on precision and reverence of the ingredients and ensures only top-quality foods are served.
