Eco gift wrapping - Furoshiki and origami

Furoshiki and origami
Learn how to wrap your gifts sustainably and beautifully using the Japanese art of furoshiki and origami.

Christmas is around the corner - can you make your gifts more sustainable? The amount of waste we produce increases by 30% at this time of year. Australians get through about 150,000 kilometres of wrapping paper. That's enough to go around the whole of Australia six times!

In this free hands-on workshop, learn the beautiful Japanese art-forms of furoshiki and origami for presenting gifts. You’ll discover how to use recycled fabrics and repurpose your paper shopping bags to make unique presents. Get creative with your old scarves, bandanas or magazines for your gift boxes, wrapping and decorations!

This class is for Willoughby Council residents only.
