Celebration Weekend road closures

The Lunar New Year Celebration Weekend will take place on Saturday 21 February from 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday 22 February from 10 am to 6 pm 2026.  It will attract tens of thousands of visitors from across Sydney and feature stage performances, more than 130 market stalls and a lantern parade on Saturday evening.

No vehicles will be allowed in the road closure areas during LNY Celebration Weekend.

All weekend closures from 4 am Sat 21 February to 9 pm Sun 22 February:

  • Victoria Avenue, closed from Anderson to Archer Street.
  • Anderson Street, closed from Help Street to Charlotte Lane.
  • Ferguson Lane, closed from Anderson Street to The Concourse car park.

The Lantern parade will run along Victoria Avenue from Hercules to Anderson Street. To facilitate this, a temporary road closure will be in place on Saturday 21 February.

Temporary road closure from approximately 6 pm to 9 pm during the Lantern parade:

  • Hercules Street and Oscar Street half closure to Chatswood Place car park.
  • Victoria Avenue between Hercules and Archer Street.
  • Archer Street between Albert Avenue and Malvern Avenue.
  • Bertram Street from Victoria Avenue to Albert Avenue.
  • Neridah Street from Victoria Avenue to Albert Avenue.
  • Kirk Street and Mills Lane.

Parking permits

All-day street parking permits can be provided to businesses in advance if they cannot access their car parks during the Celebration Weekend. Please contact the Events Team via email events@willoughby.nsw.gov.au to request a permit by Monday 20 January 2025.
