Lantern parade groups
Saturday 3 February 2024
6:30pm - 7:30pm, Hercules Street, Victoria Avenue and Anderson Street
As part of the Lunar New Year Celebration Day, the big day ended with an extravagant parade at 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
Starting from Chatswood Place on Hercules Street, the parade walked through Victoria Avenue, passing Chatswood Chase and our stalls, and finished at Anderson Street on the side of The Concourse.
Spectators picked the best spots on Victoria Avenue to catch all the colourful groups, dancers, floats and vehicles passing by. With hundreds of parade participants, it was a sight not to be missed.
The procession burst with dynamic colours, striking costumes and entertainment that brought together the diverse Willoughby community. It was a celebration of our strengths through sport, culture, the arts and the environment.
The parade was a great experience for participants and onlookers alike with performances from drummers, dancers, musicians and theatre companies. These groups, as well as sporting and community services groups, used the parade to promote themselves as it weaved through Chatswood.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the parade and came out to support the parade groups!
Parade group applications for the Chatswood Year of the Snake will be open in October 2024.
